My Petunia Analysis [Apr. 5th, 2004|10:15 pm]

I'm new this is my first ever anaylsis so sorry it its bad. I've never read any analysises besides these few here so if you could tell me where I could find more of these...Now here i go:

I, personally, never liked Petunia. She was nosy and always seemed up to no good to me. She treated Harry like dirt. She was made to be hated in the first 4 books. Petunia led us to believe that she wanted nothing to do with the magical community. Perhaps she was just jealous? But, obviously she knows something. She knows what Askaban is. Petunia also knows who Voldemort is. She gasps and has a look of terror when Harry mentions Voldemort has returned. Maybe Petunia actually did care about her sister. Maybe J.K. Rowling is trying to tell us something more about Lily through Petunia. Maybe these sisters had something in common or liked each other a whole lot more then was let on in the first books. Maybe there is something magical about Petunia that we don't know yet.

I definitely agree that there's something going on where Harry's aunt is concerned. I think Dumbledore has been keeping watch over her, making sure she keeps Harry at their home where he's safe. I think she has a certain fondness for her nephew but hides it because we all know what Vernon is like. I hope more will be revealed in the next two books. :)

Yes, I completely agree. Dumbledore and Petunia have some sort of connection we'll learn about later.
